🐾 Mala’s Story
When we first met Mala, she was tiny, timid, and trying to make herself invisible in a crowded shelter. It was $8 adoption day, and the building was full of people searching for their new best friend. While everyone else looked past her, we saw her — curled small in her kennel, hopeful but afraid.
We knelt by her cage, stuck our fingers through the bars, and she gently licked them. That little lick said everything. With cautious steps she moved closer, and in that moment, we knew she was ours.
The shelter called her “mostly fearful.” We called her family.
That day was just the beginning. Once home, her sweet personality began to shine — and shine BIG. Mala zooms across rooms like a rocket, hops onto furniture like a flying reindeer, and shows off her silly, girl-boss energy wherever she goes. She’s a SHOPAHOLIC who carefully browses toys and treats before picking her favorites. She treasures her “babies” — squirrel, rabbit, and donkey — and loves car rides, walks, and adventures with her humans.
Behind her confident, athletic spirit is also the softest heart. She’s goofy, playful, endlessly loving, and full of joy. Mala is living proof that sometimes the ones overlooked in the crowd are the ones who bring the most light into our lives.
